We are excited that you will be joining us for the 4th annual DID Creating Resilience Conference.  Here you will be able to see the speaker’s topics and goals as well as to answer some of your questions, please take some time to read through the Conference.

Q1: Where will the conference be held?

A: The conference will be held at 3950 E Bay Dr, Largo, FL 33771

Q2: Is there a hotel close to the conference with a discounted room rate?

A: No, below there are suggestive hotels in the area that you are welcome to research.

Q3: I am flying into Tampa. How do I get to the hotel?

A: Unfortunately the hotel does not have a shuttle. Tampa Airport site is 45 to 50 min from the location of the conference Taxis, Uber and Lyft are avaible upon request. So be sure to make arrangement in advance.

Q4: I am flying into Tampa. Can I rent a car and drive to my hotel location?

A: Yes. There are many rental car companies located directly at the Tampa International Airport.

Q5: Will meals be provided at the conference?

A: A am and pm Snack and Lunch will be provided Friday Nov. 15th and Saturday Nov 16th Dinner will not be provided.

Q6: Can I take pictures?

A: We want to make sure that we respect and maintain the privacy of others. We are asking that you do not take pictures or film during the conference or within the conference building. If you want to take pictures or film any footage outside, please move away from the conference building. Please ask for permission prior to taking anyone’s photograph. DID Discovering Hope will be filming only the presenter’s presentations.

Q7: Do I have to wear a name tag?

A: Yes, We are asking all attendees to wear name tags, Name tags will be used so that you can be admitted into the conference area. If you lose your name tag, stop by the registration table and get a new one.

Q8: what if I need to take a break or if I’m triggered?

A: If you feel overwhelmed please feel free to go to out grounding/art table or step outside.If you feel you might need assistance, please located a DID Discovering Hope volunteer ( who will have name badges that say Volunteer) they will help you call your emergency contact. Please remember to use your support systems as you are responsible for your emotional and physical safety. DID Discovering Hope is not responsible for anyone's mental health. DID Discovering Hope is not trained License Mental Health Counselors and take no responsibility for anyone's health care needs.

Q9: Is there time to be creative?

A: We will have an art area on Friday and Saturday. We hope you will take time to browse the art that survivors have made and that you will stop by the art area, where you can participate. We will have a register sign-up sheet for DID survivors to participate in art group Friday evening at 5pm. This is a limited space.   

Q10: Will we have a support group?

A: We will be providing two support groups on Saturday Nov 16th

  • A Group for those with DID or PTSD

  • A group for friends, family and partners of survivor’s with DID or PTSD

Q11: I would like to visit an attraction. What are my options?

A: Busch Gardens is 45 to 60 min from Largo. Disney World about 2 hours from location

Q12: What types of fun things can I do at night?

A: Lago has many stores and restaurants to explore. There is also the Clearwater Beaches with plenty of sightseeing, which is about 20 min from the confernece location. There is the Tarpon Spring Sponge Docks located south of Largo about 30 min from location.

Q13. Will there be worship? Do I have to attend the worship?

  1. Yes, there will be worship by Sold Out Band, No you do not have to attend worship, it is best to be there early so you can find a seat, of course we will encourage you to come, if you choose not to attend the worship the first speaker begins at 10am. Please keep in mind if you choose to come after worship, seats fill up and we will not reserve seating.

Q14. Will I be able to speak with the presenters?

A: Yes, we will have several 10 min breaks as well as a one-hour lunch, this will give you an opportunity to speak with the presenters.

Q15. Will I be able to ask questions during the conference?

A: We do ask all attendees to hold their questions until the end of the conference and will give you an opportunity. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions at our panel discussion on Saturday for those that attend the Saturday conference.

Q16: What if I have a problem with the hotel?

A: DID Discovering Hope really wants you to have a wonderful experience while you are in town. DID Discovering Hope is not responsible for the hotel or your personal needs during your time at the hotel. The hotel that has been suggested is based on convenience to and from the conference building.

Q17. Can I be an Exhibitor at the conference?

A: If you would like to set up a table, please contact DID Discovering Hope

Q18. Is the lunch provided fit into my dietary needs?

A: DID Discovering Hope cannot provide for every dietary need. We will have Salad and sandwiches. Attendees are responsible for their own dietary needs.

Q19: Do I have to follow the same faith-based beliefs to attend the conference?

A: Of course Not, ALL ARE WELCOME:
